The Rocky Mountain Qualifier Series (RQS) was designed to give athletes a realistic, age-appropriate competition experience while bridging the gap between the Rocky Mountain Development (DEVO) Series and the more advanced Competitive (COMP) Series.

In RQS, athletes progress from single-jump, non-timed DEVO events to two-jump, timed competitions—a crucial step in preparing for the intensity of COMP. This middle tier provides the perfect stepping-stone, ensuring athletes are ready for the next level while still focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Along the way, they’ll connect with peers who share the same passion for freestyle skiing.

Who Can Participate

• Skiers age 11 and older (as of December 31 of the competition season).
• Athletes not currently enrolled in the DEVO Series or the COMP Series.

Competition Format

• Typically 3–6 mogul competitions each season.
• May also include dual mogul events.
• Events are hosted at resorts across Colorado.

Pathway to COMP

• RQS athletes may enter one COMP Series event per season without losing their RQS eligibility or needing an additional license.
• Move-ups are limited to “Open” or “Junior” events—no “Champ” or “Senior” move-ups permitted.
• A full event weekend (e.g., single moguls Saturday + dual moguls Sunday) counts as one move-up.
