About RMF

Rocky Mountain Freestyle (RMF) is a youth-focused competition committee under U.S. Ski & Snowboard – Rocky Mountain Division (RMD), a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) organization.

RMF is the leading organizer of freestyle mogul skiing competitions in Colorado and surrounding regions, delivering 15–20 high-quality events each season for over 3,500 athletes. Our tiered competition structure—from Development to Qualifier to Competitive Series—supports athletes at every level, fostering skill progression, sportsmanship, and a love for outdoor sport. RMF also plays a critical role in developing coaches and officials, and has helped launch the careers of numerous World Cup and Olympic mogul skiers.

Through community support, grants, and volunteer engagement, RMF provides accessible, safe, and developmentally enriching competition experiences that cultivate the next generation of freestyle skiing talent.

RMF’s Impact on Our Communities

Youth Development & Opportunity

RMF provides local youth with structured pathways to grow through sport—from first competitions to elite-level skiing. By fostering discipline, confidence, and sportsmanship, RMF helps shape well-rounded individuals who carry those values into the broader community.

Economic Impact

Each RMF event brings hundreds of athletes, families, and coaches to our event locations, supporting local hotels, restaurants, shops, and services. These events help sustain tourism and seasonal employment during the winter months, directly benefiting the local economy.

Community Engagement and Volunteerism

RMF events rely on robust volunteer support from the community. This strengthens local ties and gives residents a chance to contribute meaningfully to youth sport and recreation.

Positive Youth Culture

RMF promotes healthy outdoor activity and a love for nature among young athletes. This aligns with our communities’ identities as mountain towns that values active lifestyles, environmental stewardship, and community-based recreation.

Highlighting Community Profiles

By hosting high-level sanctioned competitions, RMF helps position the communities that host our events as premier destinations for freestyle skiing. This reinforces the towns’ legacies as a hub for winter sports and contributes to their recognition on the national stage. In short, RMF enriches our hosting communities and Colorado through youth empowerment, economic vitality, community involvement, and shared pride in athletic excellence.
